The Creativity x Tech x City event brings together creativity and technology to support the sustainable growth of cities and businesses. Taking place at Restaurant Sofia on January 16, 2025, the event will feature cities and companies presenting challenges to advance sustainable business and growth. The event connects creative industries, science, art, and technology startups, as well as R&D projects, as part of an innovation ecosystem with the goal of developing competitive and sustainable operational models.
One of the challenges presented at the event is related to the Finnish Museum of Happiness, which is planned for the center of Helsinki. The challenge will be introduced by the museum’s executive producer, Johannes Lassila.
THE HAPPINESS MUSEUM CHALLENGE
The Finnish Happiness Experience Museum, an immersive experience planned in the heart of Helsinki, aims to answer the question: Why is Finland the happiest country in the world? The museum experience is built on three narrative paths—for children, knowledge seekers, and experience-oriented visitors—and utilizes both digital and analog methods to creatively present the factors contributing to happiness at different stages of life.
How can immersive experiences be designed to illustrate the significance of work-life balance for happiness?
In Finland, work-life balance is supported by cultural features such as long holiday periods, clear workday endings, and weekends dedicated to leisure. The goal is to create a memorable experience that helps visitors understand these cultural characteristics and their impact on well-being. What kinds of technological and creative solutions—such as virtual reality, gamification, or multisensory installations—could be used to create this experience for a multicultural and multilingual audience?
