CREATIVITY X TECH X CITY is a multidisciplinary business event series that highlights the innovation potential of creative expertise as part of a broader RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) ecosystem. This second edition focuses on spatial solutions in urban environments and kicks off bold, cross-sector collaboration that transcends traditional industry boundaries.
The event is targeted at researchers, companies, urban developers, higher education institutions, and anyone interested in the intersection of creativity, technology, and city development.
Cities and companies will launch new, tailored challenges aimed at initiating RDI projects in collaboration with creative industry professionals as well as startups from the fields of science, art, and technology. These challenges will be explored and developed further in co-creation workshops during the event.
The program also features an inspirational talk by designer Päivi Raivio, recipient of the 2022 Helsinki Design Award. Throughout her career, Raivio has been dedicated to creating better public spaces. Working closely with citizens and diverse communities, she has contributed to more vibrant urban squares, greener daycare yards, and a wide range of urban space experiments.
Lunch will be served at the event, and a more detailed program along with the specific challenges will be announced closer to the date.
The event is part of the Digital Creative Industries and Beyond group project, which provides a platform for strengthening collaboration and co-creation in the digital and creative industries. We offer concrete support and guidance measures to enhance the business operations and scale the production of emerging and internationally growth-oriented digital creative enterprises.
The project supports sustainable business, growth, and expertise within the creative industries by fostering the development, application, and adoption of new practices and solutions in businesses. The project is implemented by the City of Helsinki, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, and Aalto University.
The project is co-funded by the EU.
