CREATIVITY X TECH X CITY is a multidisciplinary business event series that highlights the innovation potential of creative expertise as part of a broader RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) ecosystem. This second edition focuses on spatial solutions in urban environments and kicks off bold, cross-sector collaboration that transcends traditional industry boundaries.

The event is targeted at researchers, companies, urban developers, higher education institutions, and anyone interested in the intersection of creativity, technology, and city development.

Cities and companies will launch new, tailored challenges aimed at initiating RDI projects in collaboration with creative industry professionals as well as startups from the fields of science, art, and technology. These challenges will be explored and developed further in co-creation workshops during the event.

A New Life for an Old Kindergarten
Presented by the City of Helsinki
This challenge seeks creative, community-oriented, and multifunctional concepts for a soon-to-be-vacant red-brick kindergarten built in 1925 in Pitäjänmäki. We are looking for ideas that combine creative industries, technology, and local needs. Could the space host cafes, workspaces, or events? The goal is to create a place where creativity, entrepreneurship, and everyday encounters enrich the entire neighborhood.

A Beating Heart for the City Centre
Presented by Helsinki City Marketing
Challenge transforms shop windows and empty commercial spaces into a creative, interactive experience trail. The trail invites locals and tourists to experience moments of technology and storytelling. The challenge could result in installations that react to movement or soundscapes that bring spaces to life. The concept should be affordable, scalable, and easily accessible, adapting to seasons and themes.

Rewarding Paths: The Intersection of Technology, Creativity, and Movement
Presented by Resolud
This challenge invites you to design location-based, app-powered concepts that encourage people to move and explore the city in new ways. Solutions could include marketing campaigns, city events, or tourist routes that reward users for moving and discovering. The goal is to create simple, creative, and scalable solutions that make movement fun and rewarding.

Designing the City Together: A New Digital Challenge to Bridge Urban Planning Silos
Presented by Interract
The fourth challenge focuses on improving early-stage collaboration in urban planning. Presented by Finnish company Interract, this challenge encourages the development of a digital solution that brings together professionals from different fields at the start of urban planning. Imagine a shared digital workspace where ideas flow and collaboration thrives. The goal is to create a solution that supports multidisciplinary cooperation and human-centered design, making our cities better places to live.

The program also features an inspirational talks by Päivi Raivio and Milja Mäkelä.
